Stand Strong offers a variety of internship opportunities for students and graduates seeking credit hours. If you are not a student or graduate seeking credit hours, please visit our Volunteer page to learn more about getting involved with Stand Strong!

Internship opportunities in the Counseling Department:

Please note: Opportunities involving client contact require a state-mandated 40-hour training (see our Events page for the dates of the next training). This in-depth training covers the dynamics of domestic violence, teaches crisis counseling skills, and introduces the participants to Stand Strong. Upon completion of the training, participants receive state certification as a Domestic Violence Peer Counselor.

Clinical Trainee and Intern Opportunities:

Being part of the Stand Strong clinical team allows you to work with children, individuals, families, and groups at one of our counseling centers in San Luis Obispo or Grover Beach, as well as our various school site placements within the County. We provide weekly clinical supervision in group and individual formats along with clinical training opportunities.

In order to qualify for our various trainee and internship opportunities, you must be a trainee in practicum at an accredited university or a registered IMF/PCCI/ASW intern.
