Stand Strong’s Development & Communications Team provides education and outreach about healthy relationships, the dynamics of intimate partner violence, and youth violence prevention. To request a presentation, please call (805) 781-6401 x225.

Thanks to a grant from the CDC, we will also be working with partner school and club sports programs to implement a youth leadership and violence prevention program called Coaching Boys Into Men (CBIM). The goal of CBIM is to engage coaches and their athletes in conversations about responsibility, respect, and non-violence. Athletes are empowered to lead by example, and are given the tools to speak out against gender-based violence and relationship abuse. In clinical trials, athletes who received CBIM programming were more likely to recognize relationship abuse when it occurred, and reported greater intention to intervene when they witnessed it.

This October, we are bringing Jackson Katz, Ph.D. – an internationally-renowned activist and speaker – to the Central Coast! Dr. Katz will give a multimedia presentation on October 15 and facilitate a workshop on October 16. Both events are free! Visit our Domestic Violence Awareness Month page for more information!
